Busy weekend!

OMG! I have remembered to do this 3 weeks in a row now! It’s becoming a trend-woohoo! Most of the work week was the normal routines….school, work etc.

On Tuesday we got to pick up Travis’ books from the book fair. I had ordered 18 books but 4 of them will have to be special ordered since they ran out. He was very excited and somehow I only gave him 6 of the books that day. I squirreled the other books away for random treats etc. He loves to read! Now I just need to work on teaching him to read on his own-lol!

It was relatively nice in the evenings this week so we played outside a lot. Travis and Kelly love dragging everything out of the garage to play with it for 2 seconds. I have gotten good at putting away the things as fast as they discard them. They (Travis-lol) are sharing so much better this year than in the years past. It makes it a lot easier on Elise and I!

On Saturday Travis went to Suzanna at Bristles for a haircut. He was good and Evan rationed the chocolate bribes-lol. His hair looks really good and he said he was good for them. Normally I take him to get his haircut but I was at Let’s Dish in Ashburn with Paige. We have a lot of fun talking and making the food. The 2+ hours go by so fast when we are just catching up! We made a lot of good stuff-ate the Asian Noodle Bowl last night and it was very good! We are already planning one in the next month or two…this time in Germantown.

Erinn came over on Saturday afternoon to scrap with me again. While I was waiting for her to come over (and Travis was watching a movie) I changed a ton of the picture frames in the house. I love the fresh feeling when you do this! I am (for once) out of pictures that are “supposed” to be hung up! Erinn got there and we talked, snacked and scrapped for about 4 hours. I did get caught up again-I had to do about 4 spreads between Liam’s party, going to the movie and Easter activities. Once again….I LOVE BEING CAUGHT UP! J Then Mike came over and we ordered food from Hooked. It’s a great sushi/seafood restaurant up the street. Erinn and I had the buffalo shrimp and Caesar salad and the boys got a bunch of sushi. I can’t stand sushi and neither can Erinn so we sat on the opposite side of the table from them-lol. Then it was some drunk Wii play and a dip in the hot tub. Evan had too much to drink and paid for it later. Ew.

Sunday was quiet in the AM since Evan was getting over his evening. Travis and I went to Kylee’s birthday party at Claude Moore Rec Center. For those who haven’t been there…they have an indoor pool with slides etc. The water is warm and the air is humid-just like a day at the beach! Travis and Kelly stuck together the whole time. They act like an old married couple-sweet with each other one minute and fighting the next! Really they are too cute together. They had a great time splashing around the pool, going on the slides etc. Totally wore them out. There are some pictures of them at the party and in the pool in the March picture link.

A cold, Horton and Easter OH MY!

Where did we leave off? Ah! Travis had a cold-shocker -early this week. This is normally not a big deal for kids but for Travis is generally means bad things may happen. Travis was diagnosed as an infant (for those that don't know) with RAD...Reactive Airway Disease. It's a fancy term for baby-childhood asthma. He is on various medications for it but when he gets a cold it can be very tough. Basically he has a hard time breathing at the end of a cold sometimes and needs high doses of steroids. This has gotten him a few trips to the ER before but thankfully not this time. So he and I stayed home on Tuesday to get some rest and pump steroids in. This biggest problem with the medication is that is makes him incredibly hyper (more so than usual) and angry/moody. This is what we like to call "baby roid rage". He was well enough to go back to school the next day.

His class had an Easter party on Friday. I find this kind of funny since its technically a religious holiday...but the kids don't care. They get to have cake, candy and hunt Easter eggs. What could be better when you are 3?!

Travis and I met Paige and Aiden at Tysons on Saturday to see the "Horton Hears a Who" movie. Travis wasn't as "into it" as he has been for other movies but we made it through it ok. He seemed to really like the parts with the animals but not the parts about the who's themselves. I guess he only likes movies with talking animals or talking cars-lol! Afterwards we went to lunch and shopped a few places....the boys were excited about going to the Lego store. Needless to say we left with a few new Lego sets. The last part of the trip was taking them to Cold Stone. After we sat down with our ice cream I had a panic attack because I realized they were mixing in walnuts on the counter top too. Thankfully there wasn't any cross contamination-didn't want to round out my day with that surprise!

Easter morning Travis tore through his goodies from the Easter bunny. He opened everything and spent a good 20 minutes hopping around the house on his new Spiderman hopper. We met the whole family at Granmommie's for Easter brunch. It's always nice to see her and I know she enjoys seeing Travis. He was being a pain/shy the whole time but did give her an unsolicited hug before we left. When we got home Kelly was outside so we played-the Jeep even made it's first official appearance of the spring!

p.s. I was able to get some pictures uploaded on the site and a link to March pictures (the ones uploaded so far) on the far right. Enjoy!

TREE NUTS!!!!! ACK!!!!!

Well I can't seem to remember to update this. I guess I will have to make weekly reminders in my calendar-lol.

I have no idea what has been going on since the last post.... We officially found out that Travis is allergic to tree nuts. We had a suspicion becuase he had randomly thrown up a bunch of times after eating something with tree nuts in it. The final time he talked about his toungue tingling before he threw up and that was when I decided he needed a test. He was positive for every tree nut except almond but we are avoiding those too just in case. He can still eat peanuts but we are having to be a lot more careful at restaurants etc than we used to be.

We have been to a few Bday parties lately...Chance, Logam, Kelly and Liam to name a few. They are always fun for the kids and some are fun for the adults too!

Evan was in Europe at least 3 weeks since I wrote last which was challenging. I really don't know how single parents do it!

I went over to Erinn's yesterday and I am CAUGHT UP ON MY SCRAPBOOK! That is so exciting! So when we scrap again in 2 weeks I will be scrapping "current events". I need to try to stay ahead on that too.

I hope to be more up to date on my next post-forgive me of course if I'm not! :)

p.s. I tried to link some pics from Ofoto and it kept giving me an error. I've been able to get it to work before but I have to now remember how-lol!
