Daddy was in Brussels.....
Evan was in Europe all week which meant it was a single parent week for me! It actually isn't too bad now that Travis is getting older. The worst part is in the morning-trying to get him going in the morning. There is a lot of "hurry up-get moving" etc. We got through it without too many problems and actually got out of the house at about the normal time every day. Not too bad!
I went to the eye doctor this week for the first time in at least 6 years. I had been there the other day to get Travis' glasses adjusted and thought it was about time for me to make an appointment as well. Overall is wasn't too bad-my eyesight is almost the same as it was-which made me happy. I took 10 years to pick out new frames and they will be in about 2 weeks or so. I'm sure I will be posting pictures of my new glasses when they do come in!
Mandy came over after we came home from school on Thursday. We had dinner and played games which is always a good time. Travis was sad when she went home though which is always what happens. Thankfully I was able to get him happy within minutes of her leaving. :)
Evan came home on Friday and Travis and I were both happy to see him! Unfortunately he will be gone at least one week a month for the next few months. :( Travis will only be happy about the gifts that he brings home from his trips! I was hosting the neighborhood scrapbook group that night which is always a lot of fun. I only finished 2 spreads which is kinda slow but that is what happens when I end up chatting a lot etc. Everyone went home around 10:30ish.
Saturday is was SO COLD! When we woke up the temperature was 1 degree. Crazy! Travis and I waited until the temp was 14 degrees to head out to the grocery store. It was pretty cold though. Later in the day Kelly and her mom Elise came over to play. The first few minutes Travis was nutty but later he calmed down and they played really nicely for hours. After the left Travis and I went in the basement to watch Wall-E. He saw the movie in the theater but I hadn't seen it yet. He wanted the lights dimmed and popcorn of course too. It was a really cute movie and he seemed to enjoy it again!
Since we were trapped in the house all day on Saturday we decided to head out to the mall on Sunday. We didn't really need to go but it was a good excuse to get out of the house. Travis enjoyed going in the Disney store and Yankee candle-he loves smelling all of the candles-could be in there for hours if I let him! We had lunch at the food court and then eventually left.......after a quick trip to the playground and a spin on the train! After Travis went to bed we watched "Walk Hard"....it was pretty awful but humorous at times as well.
Now we are to the history making week........

Quiet week here......
The work week was very quiet for us......I really need to start making notes along the way so I remember the week day stuff. The weekend has all the stuff I tend to remember! :) If I remember something I will add it next time-LOL.
Friday Evan and I went to see Legally Blond the musical at the Kennedy Center. Evan bought tickets for he and I, Tammy, Sean, Mandy and Charlie for Christmas. Shocker the boys had a drink before we sat in our seats! Of course this is more for girls but I think the boys secretly liked it too! I have had the main song "Ohmigod, Ohmigod you guys" in my head ever since! After the show we were planning on going to Cafe Asia downtown but when we got there we found out that at 10pm on Fridays it turns into a night club! Evan said it was like "Night of the F-ing Roxbury" in there. So he scrambled around to try and find a place for us to eat dinner.....it didn't work very well unfortunately. Someone suggested Silver Diner out by Tammy so that is where we headed. It was fun and pretty good food too! :) We all had a great time that night and can't wait to go out again!
The next morning I went over to Mom and Dad's house to get Travis. He spent the night over there since we had gone out the night before. He loves going over there-especially for Grandma's breakfast! It was hard for me to get him out their house! I finally got him out when I reminded him that Daddy was leaving soon and we had to get back to take him to the airport. So we headed back and helped Evan get ready for his trip. Travis likes to go to the airport and talk about all of the planes etc. Once Evan was on his way Travis and I had a quiet evening at home. It was really cold outside so we snuggled on the couch and watched TV until bedtime.....
Sunday we had a PJ day. We literally never got out of them since we never left the house! I love those days and Travis does too! Mandy came over later in the afternoon to drop off her Lupus donation stuff and make an early dinner for Travis of pigs in blankets. What is funny is that he only ate the hotdog parts-which he normally likes the whole thing or just the bread. You just never know with kids! I'm sure the next time he will only eat the bread-LOL.
