Brody's birthday party!

Brody is in LOVE with the show Paw Patrol and had to have it as his birthday party theme.  As luck would have it the show is too new for there to be any plates or cake choices at Wegmans etc so I was left to my own devices.  ;)  I found someone on Amazon who was printing (probably illegeally) an edible image for cakes---sold!  I got dog themed plates and stuffed dogs like the ones from the show for the kids to "adopt" as their party favor!  The stuffed dogs were a HUGE hit and a few of the kids have yet to part with their new furry friend!

Soooooo excited!

Pictures from Brody's 4th birthday

These pictures are from his actual birthday on the 4th.  He was really into opening presents etc this year which is a great thing!  Hopefully he will continue to enjoy it---having Travis open his gifts in years past took a lot of the fun out of buying him things.  ;)

All for me???

Ooooh what is it?

Drifters! YAY!

I think this was a Switch and Go dino

Travis has to help of course

I gave my parents the idea of getting him a marble race---HE WAS THRILLED

You can see he's realizing what it is

Thrilled

Look at how happy he is

VT vs. Maryland game

As a Hokie fan I want to forget this game BUT it was the only home game we made it to this year so......

Before the game we tailgated in lot 1 and I took the boys across the street to Cassell Coliseum for a Varsity wrestling match that was going on.  Apparently the Tech wrestling team is really good!  Brody wouldn't sit still of course but it was warm inside and he could wander around through the seats.  lol

Then we headed off to the game.  Brody wasn't too sure of the HUGE number of people trying to get in the gate all at once.  He made it to our seats but then wanted to leave after the cannon fired during pre-game.  We wandered around and around and he eventually left the game with me in the 3rd quarter.  Oh well--he was there and that's all that counts right?  Travis loved being in Lane Stadium and watching the game---he is brainwashed for sure.  :)

Love the looks on their faces

He LOVED all of the numbers on the parking spaces!

Brody's 4 year old well check up

After all of the snow was cleaned up and the boys were tired from playing outside it was time to head to Reston for Brody's 4 year old well check up!  Brody was very shy at first and I had to hold him for the nurse to take his pulse etc but eventually he warmed up.  Here are his 4 year old stats:

Height:  40.75 inches (50-75%)
Weight:  35.2 pounds (50%)
Head circumference:  51.5 cm (50-75%)

Brody eating his birthday cake!
We chatted a little bit with Dr. Powers about some of his struggles and his successes.  Food was a biggie since he is so picky---but I told her we are doing better than just a few months ago with the addition of some new fruits and a few veggies!  She was a little shocked about the fact he had zero interest in pooping in the potty---pee pee we are doing pretty well.  Considering just a month ago NOTHING happened and now he will go pee pee almost every time---that is a win in my book.  Hopefully the poop will happen soon.  lol  I told her about his speech, school and that he can read.  She and the intern were blown away when Brody read this long "parents please........" paper that is stuck to the wall in the room.  I said "yes he has an IEP for speech but he can read almost anything--go figure".  :)

Obviously we need to work on some things with him but for the most part he is doing well according to Dr. Powers.  I will take that---just a year ago you could only understand maybe 20% of what he said and he had zero interest in the potty or new foods of any type so.......WIN!

Just for fun here are Travis' 4 year old stats:

Height:  43.5 inches (95% +)
Weight:  47 pounds (95% +)
They didn't record his head circumference but I know it was larger.  ;)

Brody weighs only a pound more than Travis did at 2 and he weighs 7 pounds LESS than Travis weighed at 3 years old.  Wow.  Brody is a tiny bit taller than Travis was at 3 years old (he was 40.5 inches)!  Crazy how different these two kids are!

Brody loved showing Lucas some of his gymnastics tricks!

I loved the part when Brody is telling Lucas what to do on the trampoline like he's the coach!  :)

Halloween--part 2

Now that Halloween was almost 3 weeks ago I am finally posting the other pictures.  At first Brody wasn't interested in going trick or treating--just wanted to ride his bike and then all of a sudden he was ready!  lol  He really enjoyed walking around, ringing doorbells and getting candy!

This Hokie bird was more into riding his bike ;)

There goes Jason with his pizza!  lol
