Evan left for Brendan and Jen's wedding on Saturday morning with Dave and Tricia. This is a story in itself since somewhere in PA about an hour from the wedding their car broke down. Apparently it was the transmission. Thankfully for them they broke down near a bar but had to stay there for awhile to wait for Jeff (Dave's brother) to come and pick them up. Needless to say Evan, Dave, Tricia and Jeff missed the wedding ceremony. I heard the reception though was a blast and something about karaoke and a trip to a casino??? Apparently they all had a good time and there is video somewhere for the karaoke debacle.
Travis and I stayed at home to watch/take care of Dex. We had a quiet morning of a few errands and then once the light rain stopped we headed to the MayFair at his school. The MayFair was in full swing when we got there and Travis quickly found some kids from his class. The 3 boys went in the moon bounce and did basic wrestling moves on each other for about 20 minutes......sometimes they were rough but they were all being rough so that made it a little easier to take. Of course this ended with one of the kids getting bonked and crying but once again they were all dishing it out. Travis was starting to get wound up since his meds were wearing off so I gave him a warning that if he pushed, hit etc again we would leave. Well of course he slapped a friend for no apparent reason so we left. He was wailing the whole way to the car saying he would be good etc but I stood my ground and we left. He cried and cried and cried saying he would promise to be good-I told him that he had been warned and it was too late. Thankfully a few minutes later the tears stopped. We went to Logan's for an early dinner and then went home and tried to play outside but it started to rain again-boo! Nice evening of playing with Dex......
On Sunday we went to the baseball game with my parents. Travis was so excited! Dad got him a Nats foam finger and he was all about waving it around! Unfortunately it was about 55 degrees and a 30mph wind! Brrrrrr! Travis really got into cheering for the team though....he randomly started chanting...N-A-T-S-NATS-N-A-T-S-NATS and when the other team did something good he was booing with the best of them! He had a great time and seemed unaffected by the cold temps. We didn't last long though-only through the 3rd inning because it was so cold. My ears were starting to hurt from the wind! When we got home we played outside with Kelly and some of the other kids so Travis really had fun doing that. Good weekend overall!
